Methodist Church Endorses Boycott, Rejects Divestment

I made a cartoon for the hard-working organizers in Florida who spent the last two weeks trying to convince the United Methodist Church to honor their rhetoric about Palestinian human rights and respect the Palestinian Christian Kairos document. Read more about what happened here.

Kite Strike

Josh MacPhee graciously helped turn my quick sketch into a finished poster for Mayday, which the Occuprint collective has printed in large quantities, alongside many other beautiful pieces of propaganda you can check out on their website.

I will be representing World War 3 Illustrated and Adalah-NY at multiple events this weekend at the NYC Anarchist Bookfair, in addition to sitting at the table for both (it helps that they will be next to each other ;) ) with copies of my zines and the latest issue of WW3I to sell. Mayday General Strike Poster Sketches

I was honored to be invited to join a collaborative design thinkathon with some OWS print collective folk who wanted to make posters to get the 99% ready for Mayday, the Worker’s Day, and the General Strike. My idea was actually to combine multiple images of both the tools of our labor and the things you can do with your May 1 into a single poster, but that may or may not happen. Anyways, I wanted to put up the color sketches I made because I think they are pretty cool and I’m not sure exactly what is going to happen to them.

Sketch #1: Participate in Group Sports

See the rest after the jump!

Organizing 4 Occupation

Usually I am against occupation but there is a rad group in NYC that has been organizing for occupation of foreclosed and abandoned homes, doing eviction defense and getting people into houses. They are called Organizing 4 Occupation, logically enough, and they actually predate Occupy Wall Street. I made this image for their newsletter. I’m pretty pleased with it. I hope to do more work for them in the future!

JFREJ/Purimshpiel 2012: Your Hamentashn Are Killing Me!

It’s time once again for the JFREJ Purimshpiel, a raucous saturnalia dedicated to social justice, art, and redeeming Jewish tradition as a liberating force. It is the most Jewish thing I regularly participate in and one of my favorite things about New York– this year, like I have for the past several years, I have provided the program cover, which you see above.
